Challenge:

Across the diaspora, Africans and allies are hungry to understand AI, yet most feel shut out by technical jargon, inaccessible training, and the myth that AI is only for engineers. The desire to participate is there, but the pathways have been missing.

Solution:

This Vibecode Africa gathering in Dallas brought those pathways to life. Over 100 people filled the room, leaning forward, listening intensely, ready to learn how AI can shape their careers, communities, and future. For many, it was their first time seeing AI explained simply, practically, and without gatekeeping. What you see here is not just an event. It is a community waking up to its transformative potential.

Event Snapshot:
  • Event Snapshot:

  • Location: Dallas, Texas

  • Led by: Vibecode Africa, championing practical AI understanding for everyday professionals

Impact
  • Standing room only turnout, signaling massive demand for foundational AI literacy

  • Participants reported feeling clearer, more confident, and more prepared to use AI in real life

  • Sparked new cohort communities and follow up sessions across Dallas

  • Demonstrated that when the doors are opened, Africans show up ready to lead in the AI era

Challenge:

Across Africa, millions still struggle to access basic healthcare because the nearest clinic is hours away. For families in rural communities, sickness often becomes a journey of miles on foot, limited resources, and delayed diagnoses. The story shared by one team member, whose grandfather in Malawi fell ill with no doctor nearby, captured this reality. It reminded everyone in the room that distance is still a life-threatening barrier.

Challenge:

During the Vibecode Africa AI Build Sprint, this team created a working telehealth prototype in a single session. Most of them had never built an app before. What they delivered was a solution designed from lived experience: an AI powered platform that enables remote diagnosis, prescription support, and communication in African languages. Built to serve communities like the one that inspired it, the prototype showed what happens when Africans design tools for African problems.

Event Snapshot:
  • Location: Dallas AI Build Sprint

  • Moment: The winning team (Team Green) presenting their telehealth concept built in under four hours

  • Team Highlight: A group of mostly non technical builders driven by personal experience and collective purpose

Impact
  • Built their first AI powered application with zero prior technical background

  • Addressed a real health care gap affecting millions across the continent

  • Prototype now being refined into a working product with potential for national scale

  • Demonstrated the power of community innovation when Africans are equipped with the right tools

The Red Team stepped into the Build Sprint with almost no background in AI. What they lacked in technical experience, they made up for in determination and true curiosity. Together, they designed an education focused solution aimed at helping students across Africa learn more effectively using AI powered support.

This group learned in real time, teaching one another, testing ideas, and discovering what was possible when creativity meets the right tools. In just a few hours, they moved from uncertainty to building a working concept for how AI can strengthen learning outcomes for millions of African students. Their journey captured the entire spirit of Vibecode Africa. Everyday people, learning together, and creating solutions that matter.

Vibecode Africa brought together professionals, founders, creatives, and industry leaders who quickly turned the event into more than a learning experience. Conversations flowed naturally, new relationships formed, and old connections were reignited. Attendees shared ideas, exchanged opportunities, and explored ways to collaborate beyond the event.

Moments like this are at the heart of Vibecode Africa. When people gather with a shared purpose, networks grow, businesses find new partners, and community becomes a catalyst for real progress. What began as an AI literacy event evolved into a space where attendees discovered future teammates, clients, and collaborators who share their passion for Africa’s rising tech landscape.

Challenge:

During the AI Experience session, one of our experts led a live, follow along demo on how business owners can use AI to generate leads, identify their ideal audience, and connect with the right customers. The room was filled with entrepreneurs and aspiring founders who were eager to understand how AI could simplify their growth strategies.

For many attendees, this was their first time seeing these tools in action. Watching AI map out target markets and surface real opportunities made the future feel practical and within reach. The session gave people not just information, but confidence. It showed them how AI can become a powerful partner in building, scaling, and sustaining their businesses.

Challenge:

This panel brought together three powerhouse voices shaping the future of technology across Africa and the diaspora. Joyce Agbanobi, founder of MyPlusOne and former product leader at Microsoft and Amazon. Dr. Geanie Asante, a Fortune 500 AI executive and TEDx speaker with over 25 years in the tech industry. And Gabe Olokun, founder of Khaime AI, whose groundbreaking platform helps small businesses build websites in seconds and is gaining traction across the US and Nigeria.

Their conversation was both riveting and deeply practical. They broke down AI in ways that resonated with everyone in the room, from newcomers to seasoned professionals. They shared industry insights, personal lessons, and clear guidance on how Africans can position themselves at the forefront of the AI revolution. For many attendees, this panel became one of the most inspiring and informative moments of the entire event.

The Yellow Team represented the blend of talent that makes Vibecode Africa unique. This group brought together a mix of complete beginners and seasoned professionals, including innovation leader Ron Dagdag, Engineering leader at 7-Eleven, who guided his team through the build sprint. In this moment, you can see expertise meeting curiosity, experience meeting fresh perspective, and real learning happening in both directions.

Vibecode Africa is not just a space for those new to AI. It is also a place where experienced technologists can mentor, collaborate, and experiment alongside others. The interaction captured here reflects our core belief. When professionals at different stages come together with openness and purpose, innovation accelerates and everyone leaves better equipped to build impactful solutions.

Our Build Sprint drew in allies from different backgrounds, all eager to learn how AI is being shaped through an African lens. They did not stand on the sidelines. They built alongside our teams, contributed ideas, and experienced firsthand the creativity driving African innovation. Their feedback was powerful. For many, this was the most practical and eye opening AI session they had ever joined. It affirmed that Vibecode Africa is building a space where collaboration crosses cultures, industries, and borders.

About Logo Image

our mission

Equip Africans everywhere, both in the diaspora and on the continent with AI literacy so that we can create wealth and opportunities for ourselves AND Build AI Solutions for African Problems

--Our Founder

As a Pan African, Lola Adey has spent years searching for ways to contribute meaningfully to Africa's rising. she always felt the desire, but had no access, no strong network, and no clear starting point.

That changed when she started experimenting with AI.

She used AI to build her first application, a product that solves a real pain point in the product management space. she was a non technical professional who suddenly had the power to build something useful, validated, and valuable. It shifted everything. she saw a clear path for herself and for millions of Africans who only need the right tools and the right start.

Lola realized that if AI could transform her from a learner into a founder, then Africans everywhere could use AI to create income, opportunity, and long term wealth. And as we rise individually, our growth eventually circulates back to the continent. It becomes economic oxygen for Africa.

This is why VibeCode Africa exists. To help Africans everywhere access AI literacy and to build AI solutions that serve African lives.
